10 sinetones reaching 700 Hz every 4 minutes

In 2009, I began working with the concept of sonic translation. This approach consists in using a pre-existing artwork (visual, musical, literary) as a score for a new sound composition. This process led to the creation of several new pieces: Quatuor (2011) an electroacoustic work based on String Quartet No.10 by Ludwig van Beethoven; Nouvelle (2012) a radio work based on the short story by Gustave Flaubert The Legend of Saint Julian the Hospitaller; and Inevitable Music, an extended project which I began in 2012 and am continuously developing.
Inevitable Music is a collection of sonic translations of Wall Drawings by Sol LeWitt. Each piece within the cycle is a sonic translation of a wall drawing, using the instructions for the drawing or the drawing itself as a musical score. For the exhibition Il suono in mostra, I will present a new work based on the second part of Wall Drawing #299:  “On yellow wall, white lines from the center to points on the grid”.
